Kevin and Mona started this company almost a decade ago with building custom bikes for their customers. Throughout these years they’ve created a thundering presence and solid street credibility for the Big Bear Choppers brand by producing creative, well built motorcycles with a personal customer service. Today, this type of product philosophy and courteous service have not changed since the first days of our small, humble shop. With the help of our national and international network of authorized dealers, our motorcycles are becoming more and more sought out and readily available to those that desire to own an industry leading American motorcycle.

Born in a small town outside of Sydney, Australia, Kevin turned a wrench on his first Harley when he was a young bloke at an early age of 15 years. He grew up racing and abusing anything from go-carts to dirt bikes to whatever had a motor, all under the coaching of a professional dirt bike rider… his dad. Today, after decades of experience with engines and mechanics, he’s earned a deep understanding of the motorcycle drivetrain. Also with decades of living inside the Harley and custom bike world, Kevin have gained a skilled eye for motorcycle design.

After moving to the States, he started building custom bikes in 1994 at a small chopper shop in Los Angeles. After meeting and marrying Mona, they took residence in Big Bear Lake, CA to raise their family in a small town in 1997. Kevin started a repair business fixing anything from jet skis to Harleys out of a small shed for a humble living. Almost a decade later with his talent and determination, he grew the business into a world recognized top ranked motorcycle manufacturer. Kevin is the brainchild behind Big Bear Choppers’ motorcycle designs, components and direction of the company’s future.

Certified as a Veterinarian Technician and wife to Kevin Alsop, Mona has a powerful, business street fighter instinct that keeps Big Bear Choppers straight and true to the industry and the company’s target goals. Mona is a big reason why we are staying here at the top. Her philosophy of hiring great people to build a great company makes for a fun and fast pace environment. Success is only a by-product. Mona believes in a well respected, family oriented business, which means a family of 100 during the week, seemlessly working together. Nestled 7,000 feet up in the San Bernardino mountains of SoCal lies our small resort town of Big Bear Lake. While our town is a skiing destination for the Los Angeles area during the winter, summer time is the season for riders. Big Bear Lake is a west coast destination for the enthusiast cruisers. The warm blue skies, the fresh mountain air and the scenic views make it a perfect day’s ride in the mountain’s twisties. In other words, our home is a riding paradise, not to mention a perfect testing course for our motorcycles.
